You closet is now empty and ready for cleaning. Start from the top and work your way down.

• Closet dusting - Use a feather duster toremove all dust from shelves, rods and hangers.
• Shelving removal - If you have decide to paint, remove all of the shelves.
• Closet wall patching - Use a brand of quick-drying spackel for patching gouges, holes and dents in the closet walls.
• Closet painting - After the wall patching has dried place two coats of bright colored paint to the closet walls.
• Final cleaning - Vacuum the carpet.

Do you want a place to sit? How many shoes do you have? Do you need a mirror? Do you have many full length items? These are some of the questions to ask yourself.

Closet seating

If you have room for seating in your closet, a closet bench may be your answer. A closet bench can provide not only extra seating while dressing but storage underneath the seat. Ideally it should be close to a shoe rack or shoe cubby.

Shoe storage

If the bottom of you closet is usually a mess, then a shoe storage system my be the best solution.
